The scene in which the two teens discover that the "Creeper" has been rooting through and sniffing their used laundry is laughable rather than scary, and a gross miscalculation on the film-makers' part. And from then on, my friends, it all goes downhill pretty quickly, undoing any of the horror of the beginning. Following the male lead's descent into the pit, there are one or two effective shock scenes and a nicely gruesome image involving a room covered in naked human bodies. From then on the film overdoes on atmosphere and brings to mind some of the same fear of the unknown as films like THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT. In the first half hour, we're offered a brief but tense re-run of the truck attack in DUEL, and a superbly spine-tingling shot of a mysterious figure dumping a body into what looks like a pipe. This teen horror flick looks like it might be a little different from others. It dares to be different and does not give you a bunch of teenagers being hunt down by one guy. I can only speak for myself and say that I liked the fact, that this was made the way it was. But I can understand, that some people did expect different things from it. But still, if you can go through the beginning and bear with it, when it gets pretty action-y towards the end, then you will enjoy it.

If you know it, it won't hit you as hard as myself, when it gets revealed at the end. I have to admit, that I wasn't aware of an obvious reference, that the title might have suggested. He had it all planned out (a story element would make this "impossible" to happen).īut I'm not going into detail about that, because I thought the movie was genuinely scary and creepy. Good or bad, the same director will be at helm, who claimed back then, that he wanted to make sure, that there wouldn't be any sequels. Now they plan the 3rd one, which is going to come out in 2011. If you have not seen the original though, see it.When I watched this the first time quite a few years ago, it seemed like it would be a one-off. Poor acting, a terrible script and the same old same old follows. Now that you know who/what the bad guy is and you know what he does, that info is taken and dropped on your head like an anvil as the ridiculous set up of a busload of high school kids just happens to get stuck right where the hungry monster is looking to eat. That is all why the sequal is such a massive dissapointment. It also gave us Justin Long who has done a bunch of great comedies since Jeepers Creepers but he was great in the horror film! Who was he? What was he? The great truck sequences and the horrible underground lair. It gave us this great mystery villain that was shrouded through almost the entire film from us. The Movie Jeepers Creepers really came out of nowhere like a great blast of fresh air to the horror movie scene at a time when there was not much to be had for the true fan other than mediocre remakes of older films. The director has a demonstrated affinity for classic filmmaking and makes frequent references to THE BIRDS, bringing Hitchcock's quiet dread to a no-holds-barred, adrenaline-boosting horror film modeled after the FRIDAY THE 13TH, NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET, and SCREAM series. Token nerd Bucky (Billy Aaron Brown) gets a radio signal over to Taggert, the bereaving dad who is now hellbent on revenge and is carrying the one weapon that may be a match for the evil Creeper.Like the original JEEPERS CREEPERS, director Victor Salva's sequel is several cuts above average horror fare. When the bus breaks down on East 9 Highway, the Creeper pounces, employing supernatural olfactory powers to sniff out the morsels that suit his rather finicky tastes. As jocks Jake Spencer (John Hammond) and Scott Braddock (Eric Nenninger) torment gay high school journalist Izzy Bohen (Travis Schiffner) and clairvoyant cheerleader Minxie Hayes (Nicki Lynn Aycox), the Creeper watches.

The monomaniacal Taggert scours the surrounding area for clues, but the Creeper (Jonathan Breck) has moved onto its next target: a school bus full of basketball players. His first victim is local farm boy Billy Taggert (Shaun Fleming), whose shocked father Jack (wild-eyed Ray Wise) watches, uncomprehending, as his son disappears amidst violently rustling corn husks. The prehistoric winged slime ball known as the Creeper is back for seconds in JEEPERS CREEPERS II, on an all-you-can-eat binge before hibernating for another 23 years.
